Sick As A Dog

Well, I know it’s been a while. However in my defense, I have had a good reason. Dear hubby got to come home for a few weeks in between jobs. We just wanted to focus on us and spend time with our grandbabies. He missed them so much. The first few days we just played and played. Daddy just really needed some time to rest and rejuvenate.  He had been losing so much sleep it was taking a toll on him. We just relaxed during the day and he just wanted to cook and play with food. So, girl, I let him go with it.

Stomach virus has been going around very badly here in our area. It started with the girls and Dakota. Atleigh was the first to start throwing up. And then Dakota got sick. He was off work for two or three days.  He was so bad. Jossie was trying to take care of him and Atleigh at the same time. One night her boss just didn’t act like she cared and she was forced to go into work. Dakota and Atleigh was getting on the mend and then he called me and said Caroline was starting to throw up and asked if I would come to their house. Well, I did and she threw up all over me. I was gagging too. I had to borrow some clothes from Jossie and change. Poor things. It had to run its course. Jossie did  not get the virus but strep throat. Geez. What next? Dakota recovered but was very weak and went back to work. He tried to work one day when he first got sick but they sent him home. Atleigh  and Caroline were on the mend.

A few days later, we had planned to get up and take the girls to go see my momma and daddy. Well, we got Dallas to school, went and picked up girls and neither me nor hubby was feeling good. So we postponed our trip and just grabbed some breakfast in town after we dropped Dallas off.

Now, I love chicken and biscuits from Hardee’s.  That particular morning I couldn’t eat anything. What? That is not like me. I asked for a to go bag for mine and we left because it was time for Caroline’s morning nap and I am all about staying on schedule. On the way home she fell asleep. Perfect timing.

Ever since Poppie has been home, Atleigh has been glued to him. If shes ever going to turn me down, it is over him. She missed him so bad. One day they were dancing in the kitchen.

Any way, later that day I started feeling very funny. I started getting queasy. We were all playing in the floor and all the sudden it hit me and I told him I had to go throw up. And I did. Over and over and over. I could not help him take care of the girls, so, Mr. Mom took over.

He is super great. However, that evening he was getting concerned because I was throwing up every 30 minutes. He quarantined me to the bedroom and called Dakota and told him he was going to have to pick up the girls when he got off work and take them home. He was afraid I would give it back to them. So for the next three days I basically slept and puked. I was so weak. I could not even drink Gatorade or eat crackers. I was getting so dehydrated that crackers were sticking to my mouth and I couldn’t swallow them. I finally asked hubby to go get me something sweet and wet. I was craving pineapple. So he went and got me some and some jello. I could only stay awake for 30 minutes at a time until I would sleep again. He would pop his head in and out and check on me. He slept on the couch. He told Dallas to stay out and just text me,  because he had a trip coming up with FFA on spring break and didn’t want him getting sick.

So after a few days, I recover. Spring break starts. I am still weak and took a while for my strength to get back. My little buddies were worried about me and missed me.

After I got better, we planned our trip to go see my momma and daddy. We visited with them, and had lunch, then we left and went to the mall to do some shopping with Dallas because he needed some shoes and dress pants for FFA for his trip.

My daddy is doing better. He is acing all of his therapy sessions and evaluations.  He is even driving a little which scares me some. I think it’s too soon, but they don’t.  We had a good visit. He has had to accept full retirement but my momma has a nice honey do list for him so…….lol.

Then it was time for Dallas to go on his trip to Gatlinburg for the FFA state convention.  Quite handsome young feller if I say so myself.

They stayed for 5 days and had a good time.

Me and Poppie enjoyed the rest of our time with the girls. All he has been wanting to do is ride them on the tractor. Atleigh loves being outside and hanging out with the guys.

Atleigh followed poppie everywhere.   He planted some carrots and spinach so we will see what we get.

Then we had one day completely to ourselves. We finally spent a gift card to Olive Garden that was given to us at Christmas and we had lunch. We went to Lowe’s and a garden center.

This man has my heart.

Then it came time for him to leave put again. There goes my heart. 😥.

So, I just have to stay busy and hold the fort down for a few more weeks then he will take the summer off. Hallelujah.  Lord willing and the creek don’t rise. Poor Atleigh was so attached to poppie that now every time she hears a truck she thinks its him. She breaks my heart.

I’m just trying to take her mind off it. We work and play.

One night we even had supper outside on the back porch.

The guys are doing real good with their fencing business. Every job needs a good little supervisor lol.

She loves hanging out wherever her favorite guys are.

Oh and NEVER EVER EVER buy any other cup than their favorite ones either. Shes happy again.

These guys had a few days off because of the rain so they had play time with the girls

Next week things will get back to normal. School is back in and we only have 8 weeks left. I’m so excited.

I have been watching some videos by a woman named Jordan Page. You can catch her on YouTube.  I have been getting alot of frugal tips and organizing tips from her. I went to Dollar Tree today and had to get out of there before I blew my budget. Lol.

Well, I’ve got to get off here. I hope everyone enjoys their day. God Bless.

About 4dfarms

I am a wife to an amazingly dedicated, devoted, and loyal husband whom God sent to me. I am a mother to two wonderful boys to whom I'd give my life for. Around here we have homeschooled, we farm, garden, hunt, fish and anything else we want to do. Although I do have Rheumatoid Arthritis. Sometimes its hard for me to keep up. If it was not for my husband and two boys, I could not do some of what I do. They really do help me alot. We work together as a team in my home. We try our best to train up our children in the fear and admonition of the Lord. Yea, they slip sometimes and correction has to be made. Thats life. I want so badly to be just like the Proverbs 31 woman. My grandmother did an awesome job of it and Id like to fill her shoes.
