This morning is all about last minute things to do before the festivities.
This past week I’ve still been busy making goodies and treats for the kids, while Dallas invited his girlfriend over for their Christmas together. I was decorating the cookies that the girls and I baked while he was teaching Leah how to cook and he prepared our meal.
Dear hubby got to come home a day early because he had to shut the job down due to the company not sending the materials needed, which pushes them further behind for next week and they will have to work over which means he want be home next weekend. However, that’s ok because we have dated all weekend for our anniversary.
He had been planning our anniversary for two weeks. First, he bought me a new dress and all matching accessories. Now, a little history, every year he buys me a dress, shoes, jewelry, handbag, etc. for me for Easter, Mothers Day and our Anniversary. BUT, this year he outdid himself. I have had so many compliments off this one. Complete with even the broach on my shawl. I was called Ms. Christmas by a lady at church. Even the men complimented me.
I forgot to have my hand bag in my hand when I took the pic. It is red satin with rhinestone design and silver just like my broach. This man knows how to dress me. You see, women don’t dress anymore like they use to. I love to dress classy and have everything matching just like they use to do in the old days. My grandmother and mother were the best at it. He knows this about me and goes all out. HE IS GOOD.
We went to a fancy restaurant in my hometown back home. Wonderful meal, wonderful atmosphere. Dallas didn’t want to go so he spent the night with his brother. We will have to get use to this being alone thing on our anniversary because we’ve always had kids with us. We did have the girls on the actual night of our anniversary because he started out driving home that morning and Jossie had to work. So he got to see his girls when he got home and play with them some. We ended our date last night. We always watch It’s A Wonderful Life together and have a fire going.
We celebrated Dakotas birthday yesterday because everyone was working on his actual birthday and dad was not here. So they came over after church and dad cooked lunch. This boy wasn’t kidding when he said he wanted chocolate cake for his birthday.
Trying her on baby food. She is getting so much better and her appetite is coming back.
This goofy girl though. I guess goldfish tastes better upside down.
I’ve just got last minute prep to do this morning for things that need to be fresh then will have the rest of the day to relax and enjoy ourselves before we go to Christmas dinner at Nannys.
If I don’t get to post again tomorrow, I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas and remember the true meaning of Christmas.
