Sometimes I think I am the worst blogger ever because I forget to post sometimes. Geez. Life happens and you just roll with it. I apologize for leaving ya’ll behind.
Let’s see. I think I left ya’ll at July 4th. We enjoyed ours. Daddy came home for the weekend so he could shoot fireworks for his princess Atleigh. It was the weekend before the 4th because he could not take off during the week.
Then that week, me and Dallas took off out to AR. We spent the 4th on the lake. I finally got to get on the boat. We got to see fireworks show on the river. Dear hubby doesn’t like crowded places on the water and was nervous the whole time because it was dark too. He doesn’t do night too well on the water. It makes him unsettled but he did it for us.
Then we had a family vacation for all of us and me and Dallas headed out with Dakota, Jossie, and Atleigh behind us. Although dad had to work during the week we still did things til he got off work then we were together. It meant a lot to him for us to just come spend time with him. We ventured out a few places, we went to the lake, after he would get off work we would go out to eat and do something together in town.
We had a very good week.
The times that we are back at home it’s down to business and work. Dallas has to keep up with the lawn mowing and weedeating, not to mention, football practice. He comes in some days exhausted. The garden has to be kept up and the house which is my job. However, we discovered I had a health which would explain my low energy and no motivation since Christmas last year. They discovered I have a blood clot in my calf behind my knee. I had no idea. They sent me straight to the ER after a dr visit which was so totally not in my plans. They put me on a blood thinner to try to break it up. I’m two weeks in on the medication. After a few days I started feeling a little better. I managed to get some things done that has been needing it. Like, house cleaning. I went plum spring cleaning mode. Then, I was bound and determined to get in my sewing room and clean and reorganize but a lot of unfinished sewing projects got in my way and I was motivated to hit them and some done and I’m still working on some and almost finished. A lot of those projects are dresses and diaper covers for Atleigh and Caroline. When I finish those I will let ya’ll see. I got some small projects done first like this. I spent $3 on each dress and $4 for some lace trim. Wholah! Not bad.
Then I celebrated my 47th birthday. Dear hubby came in for the weekend and built me a new arbor. Then I dug out my ice cream maker and made him some homemade ice cream.
When he comes home on the weekends we don’t go out there, he just wants to get a project done and spend time with family.
This week is special because I came out for a week and it is us. Yes, you read that right. Dallas is on a mission trip with our youth from church in New Orleans, LA. Me and dad are all alone. The night I got here, he fixed me a fabulous supper steak, shrimp and ginger salad. Delicious. Yesterday, we went to Mt. Nebo. He wanted to hike a little so I said why not? Oh my, maybe not the best thing to do when your going up in elevation and your chest is getting tight and you have a blood in your leg. I survived. About a mile into the trail, my calf started burning and swelling a little. He made me sit down and told me to go at my own pace and let him know when we needed to turn around and go back. Well, if you know anything about me, you will know curiosity and stubbornness kicked in and I said I’m afraid I’ll miss something up ahead and I don’t like being defeated and I began to cry a little. He said, ok, just tell me when your ready and when we need to stop. I went on a little further and my leg just couldn’t take anymore but I was satisfied that I did go a little further but I knew my limit too. I knew we still had a mile and a half back to the truck. But I was content. It was fun and adventurous just like when we were younger. MUCH YOUNGER.
We finally got back to the truck and I was so sore and couldn’t hardly move. We got back to the house and he took care of me the rest of the night but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. The pic in the top left corner is the nuclear plant where he is at. He has to finish this summer project then do the regular outage which goes til Oct. It’s been a long spring and summer. However he is the provider and takes care of his family. I’m just glad he gets to come home on weekends or every other weekend and we get to come out here. This is probably my last long trip before school starts Aug. 3rd. Boy, time has flown by. I’m gonna soak this week up and enjoy our time together.
Every one have a blessed day and I want take so long to post again. God bless.
