Blessed Holidays

I hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving Holiday. I know I did. And, as always, I ate too much. Lol.

We kicked off our holiday with a wienie roast one night for Atleigh. She loved the fire and her some marshmallows.

When it got too cold outside, we came in to warm her up and Poppie built her a fire in the fireplace. She loves loving on mommy and she got to love on Uncle Dallas too. Well, slobber on them is more like it. PhotoGrid_1511791747781

Then, she just got all played out. I think a few more did too. Everybody loves Dakota.

The next few days was spent getting food ready for three dinners. Phew! I had to take a muscle relaxer that night. But I did it. I doubled some recipes and divided three ways. This year I tried homemade stuffing. I made a loaf of bread, sliced and diced into cubes, and toasted in the oven. While they were baking, I made the filling. I sliced and diced onions and celery. The wet ingredients were, are you ready?, just cream of chicken soup, cream of celery soup and chicken broth. That’s it. Easy peasy. And salt and pepper to taste. After the pieces of bread toasted, I put them in a casserole dish, poured the wet mixture with the onions and celery over it, and baked in the oven for about 30 minutes on 400. It was so delicious.

Dakota and Jossie went to visit her family one night and had a good time.

Then on Thanksgiving day we went to my mother in law’s.

On black Friday we went to my momma and Daddys. I surprised my momma and brought the whole dinner. They loved it.

We’ve been getting some hunting done. Dear hubby has put two in the freezer so far. I have been wanting some deer meat so bad. We have been checking cameras and watching. He got his 10 point he’s been wanting. I was so glad because I wanted him in our freezer and not the neighbors or hunting club down the road.  We have alot of hunters around here.

We’ve been teaching Jossie to hunt. She wanted to learn and go so bad. I took her one evening and didn’t see anything. She was disappointed but that’s part of it.

She’s going to hunt some more this week. Maybe she will be blessed to fill their freezer. Dakota has been enjoying duck hunting. Maybe he will get some ducks for their freezer also.

These two are having way too much fun in the kitchen.

We’re trying to get Atleigh transitioned to her bed. Yep, she has slept on her mother’s chest since she was born. God love it. She is doing good so far but it takes time.

The best thing about after Thanksgiving, is all the left overs. You can do so many things with them. Left over turkey makes good soup and etc. Just Google it. Then the carcass makes good stock. I got 8 qts off of one turkey.

We’re trying to get the house decorated now for Christmas. This also takes time. Lol. Almost done.

About 4dfarms

I am a wife to an amazingly dedicated, devoted, and loyal husband whom God sent to me. I am a mother to two wonderful boys to whom I'd give my life for. Around here we have homeschooled, we farm, garden, hunt, fish and anything else we want to do. Although I do have Rheumatoid Arthritis. Sometimes its hard for me to keep up. If it was not for my husband and two boys, I could not do some of what I do. They really do help me alot. We work together as a team in my home. We try our best to train up our children in the fear and admonition of the Lord. Yea, they slip sometimes and correction has to be made. Thats life. I want so badly to be just like the Proverbs 31 woman. My grandmother did an awesome job of it and Id like to fill her shoes.
