Wednesday was our fun day and me, Dallas and my mom went to Shiloh National Battlefield here close to us. It features the Battle of Shiloh during the Civil War. This is what Dallas wanted to do. It has a drive through tour and a walk through the cemetery and a museum. We packed another picnic lunch and ate by a little Creek. You can Google it’s history to read about it.
One day we came home and saw something hopping along in the driveway. Dear hubby spotted it first and recognized it was a humming bird. It was dazed and confused. Probably got knocked down by another because they like to play King of the bird feeder. I scooped it up in my hand and took it to the feeder and put its beak in the hole so it could drink. It drank and drank and drank. I didn’t know where it put it all. It gathered it’s composure and then all the sudden flew off. I was so delighted and about wet my britches. You don’t get a chance everyday to hold a Hummer.
One evening I had everybody working. I had so much to do so I recruited help. I had Dakota dusting, Dallas doing laundry and yes I put the princess to work. I put her on cooking duty. She needs to learn to cook anyway if she’s gonna take care of Dakota so I started her out simple. Spaghetti. She cooked our supper and she did very good.
Daddy was busy building a new set of front steps.
It has been extremely hot this week and we have not hardly been getting any rain so we’ve had to run the sprinklers.
Tigger is doing very good and helps me all the time. She loves to ride around on my neck when she gets tired from walking.
Next week Dallas will start back with football practice for two weeks then school will be starting back. I cannot believe our summer is almost gone. Well, we’re going to enjoy it as much as possible.
