Well my mom and dad came to visit for our Fathers Day with him. We had a shrimp boil watermelon chocolate cake and ice cream. We played horse shoes outside and my momma was the queen. David and Dakota wound up being the kings. Im not too bad at them myself. Then we went in and cooled off and played Rook Rummykub and some Yazee. It was a very good day indeed. Then later that night Davids brother Wayne came to pick up Hunter and they decided they wanted to play some horse shoes too. So…..it was on til dark. Fathers against sons. I still dont know who really won because of all the tall tales but i do know they had a great time. Come Monday i had some canning to do. We bought some dried pinto beans in bulk and i put up 15 qts. There would have been 17 but a few jars busted. That will happen every once in a while. It was like child hood memories in my house. The canner on the right was my MaMa Olivers. Hearing the bobbler running brought me back to their house in Alabama where i would spend the summers. I can still hear her……Now Bit….you stay away from that canner….itll burn baby. Ill keep canning some beans until i feel i have enough in pantry. They will go good with some cornbread and fried potatoes and deer steaks this winter. Also im going to make some homemade spanish rice to can to go with the beans for tacos or fajitas sometimes. I love to can and put up things. This is the last few karate classes for Dallas before belt testing this Saturday. Im so nervous for him. He will do great. He has sweated and absolutely worked his tale off for this. Ive seen a great determination in him and so much improvement. Ive seen tears of frustration and joy. Ive seen a competitive side. Ive seen endurance and motivation. Ive seen him go from dry to wringing wet with sweat in 2 minutes. Trust me i wash his stinky ghi. Im so proud of him. Daddy is going to take him this time. Dakota is still doing good going to football practice and work. They do have the next few weeks off though so he will get more work in. We are sad to say however that daddy will be leaving in a week and a half to go to Colorado. We have always had him here with us for the summers but work calls and there is projects he wants to do around our house. We will have one more cookout for the 4th before he leaves. When it comes harvest time my momma and daddy will come and i will surely share. Today i have a bunch of sewing projects to get done that have just piled up. Yesterday daddy was laying down all the manly rules for Dakota to follow while hes gone. Every summer David takes care of our yard his mommas his sisters house and his brothers. Now this summer it is up to Dakota. Dakota always steps up to the plate when daddy is gone. Both of our boys do. Im one blessed momma. I am one very blessed woman to have three wonderful men in my life and this is their personalities.
Each one is alike but also different in their own way and i love all three with every breath.
Hope everyone has a good day and God Bless.
