A better couple of weeks

Well the past few weeks have been better. We have managed to have some good times and got some work done too.  Ive had dr’s appointments til Im sick of them.

Dakota is getting ready for his driving test. Boy im not. I have to say he has been doing pretty good though. I love to ride with him and Dallas cause they act goofy. He was watching the road though, we were just jammin.. photo IMG_20140305_175356_124_zpsjitk3io0.jpg

We had some pretty weather and we were able to get some work done. One of my nephews came to visit with us and I put him to work too, but he loves it. He likes to be busy. I put them to spreading lime in my pastures. photo PhotoGrid_1394625131760_zpsurnltptb.jpg

While they were spreading lime, I had to reinforce the fence to keep the chickens out of the garden this year. We widened Missys kennel for her. Now she has more room to play. Now, Ill explain why Dallas is sitting down in the chair on the second day. After the first day of spreading lime where he is riding on the back managing the spreader, he went on to play in the ditch later when they got done. Well, he had the bright idea to jump the ditch. I saw it coming. He took off running and I could tell this was not going to come out well. he landed wrong on his foot and jammed his ankle. It swelled up really badly. It is not broken.  He has been limping like crazy and Ive had to do his work for him for a while.  Big brother toted him every where for a while. photo IMG_20140307_070455_577-1_zpszm0ml7ef.jpg he is such a good brother.

Since those guys worked so hard I treated them to dinner. I had three dates for that night.

Things have been going better on the farm. Taz is growing like a weed. He is so playful and Ginger is such a good mom. photo PhotoGrid_1394230754270_zpszwtsjwst.jpg

Ive had the chance to witness life again. I had been waiting on this girl all week and she knew it too. She was loving making me wait. Look at her crooked grin. photo PhotoGrid_1394498231929_zps5anueulp.jpg I finally caught her one day. I knew she was acting funny so I grabbed her and put her in the kidding pen. No sooner than I did that she started pushing. However she was different. She prefers to have hers standing up. Oh well, as long as she had them. Two beautiful does. I cried when she had the last one cause it looked just like Joe Joe, her great grandmother that I lost a little over a month ago. I named her Lil Joe. And then theres Lucy. photo PhotoGrid_1394625244734_zpswggn8gvl.jpg Easy birth but so tiny. They are more fragile. Ive kept my eyes on them and kept them up longer, but Sugar was getting depressed and wanted out of that pen. They are learning so much. photo PhotoGrid_1394625426644_zps9rmrrke7.jpg Momma is teaching them alot. I love to watch mommas with their babies. Shes already teaching them to eat out of a big girls bowl photo IMG_20140314_091839_019_zpsneskkpbx.jpg But boy do they have their own personalities: photo PhotoGrid_1395000812254_zpsocaad0vf.jpg photo PhotoGrid_1395000751705_zps6xvusdka.jpg
I took them over to see their daddy Legacy: He was struttin around the pen saying..”Yea, Im the man, Im the man” photo PhotoGrid_1394467436280_zpsvmu6wl73.jpg

Taz is already acting a little bucky with Joe and Lucy. He is flirting and chasing them everywhere. photo PhotoGrid_1395000897863_zps17gdkra5.jpg

Hes making those little bucky sounds and trying to whoo them.

I got some more work done yesterday. I got my cold stuff planted. I got radishes, carrots, spinach, and I lost count after 75 onions. It took me all day, yes literally all day. I started at 10am and didnt come in til 5pm. The tiller beat the crap out of me, although I can not move I was still that little girl watching my PaPa work with his two stubborn ole mules behind the plow. Giddie up Maud…Giddie up he would say. It took me way back to some pleasant child hood memories.

Some where along the line I got a extremely sore throat, and cold. Now I am hoarse and cant talk. I think its just allergies. Things are starting to get little buds on them around here.

Also yesterday I noticed Tasha was loosing her mucous plug and shes not due til another week and a half. Well, at bed time she was still not in labor so I just put her in the kidding pen. I got down to the barn just in time this morning, she ate and then it was time. I got her back in pen and she started having them. Tasha chose to birth standing up this time too. Shes never done that before. Oh well, once again, healthy babies, two bucks. One looks just like Taz. This is Yaz’s last babies. photo PhotoGrid_1395000966360_zpsizprphgt.jpg They came out loud and proud and strong. Dallas named them Lando and Hans the second. photo IMG_20140316_165844_147_zpsjeecovlt.jpg photo IMG_20140316_171015_970_zpswlwvekjr.jpg

Weve gone from sweating the past few days to fireplace tonight. Its ridicilous. Ive had to put sweaters back on all babies. Dakota built me a fire to help make me feel better. Bless him.

Im extremely sore and not feeling well tonight, so Im going to call it a night. Hope everyone has enjoyed their day. God Bless.

About 4dfarms

I am a wife to an amazingly dedicated, devoted, and loyal husband whom God sent to me. I am a mother to two wonderful boys to whom I'd give my life for. Around here we have homeschooled, we farm, garden, hunt, fish and anything else we want to do. Although I do have Rheumatoid Arthritis. Sometimes its hard for me to keep up. If it was not for my husband and two boys, I could not do some of what I do. They really do help me alot. We work together as a team in my home. We try our best to train up our children in the fear and admonition of the Lord. Yea, they slip sometimes and correction has to be made. Thats life. I want so badly to be just like the Proverbs 31 woman. My grandmother did an awesome job of it and Id like to fill her shoes.
