Today weve had a chance to spend with family. Today was Tinas bday which is Davids sister. She would have been 47 years old today. (If you dont know about this check out my post from back in february of this year). We took off from school and I checked Dakota out early. I thought David would be ready to visit the gravesite today but he was still not ready yet. Thats ok, we support him. The time will come when he will be ready. This is Tinas grandchildren, David will take care of these kids for the rest of his life and spoil the just like his own. Hes good at that.
Uhoh somebody found Dallas duck call We start them young in these parts. lol
We have had a tragedy on our farm. We lost our beloved Susie. She was our Grand Champion Duck Retriever and a daddys girl. Here is her title, pedigree and all the ribbons she has won. Were trying to keep Missy (her daughter) busy, shes lost without momma. David and Dakota did not take it too well. She will be greatly missed. We do not know exactly what happened, it is a mystery as to her passing.
My sweetheart has been working hard acquiring brownie points since hes been home. I come up from the barn one morning doing chores and this is what I find. A rose, chocolate and my sweetie in front of fire. Of course I had to BEG him to let me take this pic. He never would have agreed if he did not want more brownie points. lol. You see its little things like this that makes a marriage stay alive.
Well we finally got to do it. We got matching his and her diesels. People dont know what to think about a girl driving a diesel. Oh well. I love it. This is my replacement from my truck being crushed under a 100 yr old oak tree during Januarys tornado. (another post from january)
We had our last football game of the season the other night and we froze. Dakota got in the truck and was freezing. His feet were soaking wet from the field from the rain the day before. He said he just wanted to go home and get warm in front of the fireplace. He is also sick from the cold and wet. Now he is getting out at 3 everyday and its nice to see him longer every day now. Now the football players get their driving time in class. They had to wait til football season was over for them to get to go out because sometimes the time runs into their last block which is football. Now Im getting nervous because he will take them out in town and such. At least they have those extra brakes and steering wheels in the student driver cars.
We have had some problems at every home game though. There is a section where nothing but teenagers sit. Well, they seem to think its funny to throw things down onto the spectators below them. Im talking food, trash, even quarters, yes Ive been hit in the head with a quarter. This has happened at every single ball game and I had had enough. After about the third thing they throwed down I lost it. Especially when it was food and they almost hit Dallas in the back of the head with it. I jumped up and told them if one more thing comes down that way I was coming up there and it was not going to be pretty cause I was going to do what their parents should have already done. TAKE THEM TO THE WOODSHED! I told them they could call their parents too if they didnt like it. Not to mention during the National Anthem they were so disrespectful talking the whole time and through the moment of silence too. While I was waiting on Dakota at school today I had a chance to talk to principle about it. I suggested that every student from grades 9-12 should have to do a report on the importance of the Star Spangled Banner and its importance also the Moment of Silence. I told him my papa was in WWII and my husband was in Dessert Storm and we take our flag seriously. He thought it was a good idea. Well see.
Well, I think Im going to enjoy the rest of the night and have some bananna pudding which was Tinas favorite. We all got to share it with her today.
Hope everyone has a blessed day.
