This a duck David killed on one of his hunting trips and he had it mounted. It will now be our permanent tree topper. Our Christmas tree 2012 notice topper....can u guess what it is.... I wonder if Duck Dynasty had anything to do with it? We do love that show.par

Well, Dakota made a decision to not keep Mojo. He had already developed some habits that are not good in a duck dog…..LIKE BARKING!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This dog has barked nonstop……..which means my husband is not getting much sleep. But he has been rather patient. Dakota has decided he wants to start out with a weaned puppy. He can establish habits that are found in a duck dot. We want to have Susie bred again. Dakota wants one of her pups. Missy might get a little jealous. Susie and Missy lietrally had droopy eyes due to Mojo’s constant barking. At least Dakota tried. We found a really nice home for him. They duck hunt too. Maybe they can train him better, I dont know. par

This is an article from a friend of mine on fb: it is so true for us goat owners.par
Doe’s Secret Code of Honorpar
The doe’s secret code of honor is as old as goats themselves and is ultimately the species best kept secret. No doe shall ever kid before its time. (Its time being determined by the following factors):par
1- No kid shall be born until total chaos has been reachedpar

by all involved. Your owner’s house must be a wreck, their family hungry and desperate for clean clothes, and their social life nonexistent.par
2- “Midwives” must reach the babbling fool status before you kid out. Bloodshot eyes, tangled hair and the inability to form a sentence mean the time is getting close.par
3- For every bell, beeper, camera or whistle they attach to you, kidding must be delayed by at least one day for each item. If they use an audio monitor, one good yell per hour will keep things interesting.par
4- If you hear the words, “She’s nowhere near ready. She’ll be fine while we’re away for the weekend,” Wait until they load the car, then begin pushing!par
5- Owner stress must be at an all time high! If you are in the care of someone else, ten to fifteen phone calls a day is a sign you’re getting close.par
6- When you hear the words “I can’t take it anymore!” wait at least three more days.par
7 – You must keep this waiting game interesting. False alarms are mandatory! Little teasers such as looking at your stomach, pushing your food around in the bucket and then walking away from it, and nesting, are always good for a rise. Be creative and find new things to do to keep the adrenaline pumping in those who wait.par
8- The honor of all goats is now in your hands. Use this time to avenge all of your barn mates, think about your friend who had to wear that silly costume in front of those people. Hang onto that baby for another day. OH, they made him do tricks too! Three more days seems fair. Late feedings, the dreaded diet, bad haircuts, those awful wormings can also be avenged at this time.par
9- If you have fulfilled all of the above and are still not sure when to have the kids, listen to the weather forecast on the radio that has been so generously provided by those who wait. Severe storm warning is what you’re waiting for. In the heart of the storm jump into action! The power could go out and you could have the last laugh. You have a good chance of those who wait missing the whole thing while searching for a flashlight that works!par
10- Make the most of your interrupted nights. Beg for food each time someone comes into the barn to check you. Your barn mates will love you as the extra goodies fall their way too.par
Remember, this code of honor was designed to remind man of how truly special goats are. Do your best to reward those who wait with a beautiful doeling to carry on the Doe Code of Honor for the next generation of those who wait!

Ive got lots and lots of baking to do, not that Im any good at it. But so far Dallas and I have made our first sugar cookies. This is a post I had on fb one night. par
Save the sugar cookies. We worked really hard to make sugar cookies for the first time for them to just wind up in my floor board because I almost hit three puppies in the road. We saved the puppies instead. Now these puppies have been put out and abandoned. I’m getting really tired of people dumping their dogs out because they just don’t want them anymore. I think your cruel and irresponsible. Maybe somebody needs to put your sorry butt out and see if anybody picks you up and takes you home and feeds you.par
par
The cookies were still good, we made them for my Wednesday night class. They loved them. par
par
We got to have a Christmas get to gether at my MIL’s house. Davids nephew and his wife came home to visit from Seattle, WA. par
par
I will be kind of busy from now til Christmas. More baking and cooking to do for Christmas. We have been trying to watch all our Christmas movies at least every other night. Some were saving til a few nights before Christmas, like A Christmas Carol, Miracle on 34th Street, etc. You know the classics.par
par
Well Id like to leave you with some Christmas wishes if I dont post again soon. par

About 4dfarms

I am a wife to an amazingly dedicated, devoted, and loyal husband whom God sent to me. I am a mother to two wonderful boys to whom I'd give my life for. Around here we have homeschooled, we farm, garden, hunt, fish and anything else we want to do. Although I do have Rheumatoid Arthritis. Sometimes its hard for me to keep up. If it was not for my husband and two boys, I could not do some of what I do. They really do help me alot. We work together as a team in my home. We try our best to train up our children in the fear and admonition of the Lord. Yea, they slip sometimes and correction has to be made. Thats life. I want so badly to be just like the Proverbs 31 woman. My grandmother did an awesome job of it and Id like to fill her shoes.
