pardtx0tx959tx1918tx2877tx3836tx4795tx5754tx6713tx7672tx8631f1fs20 Things have been going good around here lately. Were finished with what bulldozer work were going to have done right not. Weve got the drive connected and now we can just drive across it instead of getting on the road and driving around. I took these pics at dusk one night I hope you can see them.Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket This is the ridge that the house will go on top of the hill and overlook all the property.Photobucket Down the hill in front is where the pond will go. Yep these rednecks got to have a pond so we can fish. We now have to work on getting dirt hauled in to build up the levy so we can drive across the pond. We can still see the road but from a very faarrrr distance. Then the house will be positioned just like this one where we can see everything. It will be so nice to sit on my porch and have my morning coffee or glass of sweet tea in the evenings. AH!!!!!par

In the midst of all that: I went down to the barn one night and did my night milking, yep Im still getting 3 qts a day from my drama queen. I noticed Tasha was discharging and I felt her rump and sure nuf her ligaments had dropped….she was going to go anytime now. I came back up to house and I told Dallas to get his stuff ready we were going back down to the barn. We got sleeping bags ready and “to do” bags while we patiently wait.par
par
Well we were still waiting……waiting…….Dallas finally gets sleepy and says hes going to sleep, so I try to go to sleep. UH…….par

This is why we didn’t sleep. Joe Joe is still playing queen of the barn. Somebody tries to come in and she butts them back out. She wants everyone to stay away from all the babies. She’s a little too protective. Then miracle would sneak by and run straight to me everytime for protection and jump right in the middle of my cot and on my belly. Then she proceeds to chewing her cud right over my head. Burp, chew, smack, swallow etc. Then the babies wake up for midnight feeding and when their done they want to run and jump on everything in the barn in circles milk stand, ladder, and me all in circles. Then one pees on my bed. Oh for heavens sakes. Dallas is safe in the loft. He thinks this is funny. Then Tasha starts having the babies. So much for sleeping.

At one o’clock in the morning Tasha and Bucky became proud first time parents of twins. A buck and a doe. I have been trying to get twins out of Tisha’s bloodline for two generations. Tasha is going to be a great mom just like her mom Tisha before her. She knew exactly what to do so Dallas and I came up to the house around three am. I am so proud of her…..She is a natural….

This is Dixon Farms Buckaroos Legend (standing) and Dixon Farms In Memory of Tisha (Memory). They are so cute. I am keeping the doe. I will find good homes for my boys Ive had this year except Legacy. The others are having a good time running around playing and carrying on.par

I enjoy milking time. You hear the milk squirting in the bucket. All the girls chewing their cuds. And then there’s the babies that like to climb on your back and nibble your clothes. Life is good.

I enjoy milking time. You hear the milk squirting in the bucket. All the girls chewing their cuds. And then there's the babies that like to climb on your back and nibble your clothes. Life is good. by the way this is Davids favorite. He said out of all the boys he wished I was keeping this one. Crap, he has to get sensitive on me again. This is Cotton. I will be starting to wean him next week. His new owners will be picking him up around the first of July. He is too funny. He has already fell in love with the little doe from Tasha. He struts his stuff around her and shows out in front of all the other bucks.par

The morning after we stayed down at the barn…we took little mini naps that day. Dakota finally said “How many naps yall gonna take today?” I told him as many as it took to catch up.par
par
Since Dakota has started his lawn mowing job…he now knows what it feels like to come home after a long hard day at work…a couple of days he has been so tired and just wanted to relax when he got home. HUMMMM!!!!!! Now maybe he understands Daddy. He loves making money though. Now he comes in and tells Dallas to have a seat and begins to lecture him on work ethics and team work. Lol he is too funny. Dallas just as well call him Daddy. lolpar

We got up yesterday morning and Dallas just about made homemade cinnamon rolls all by himself. I just had to help with a few things.Chef Dallas making homemade cinnamon rolls for breakfast. Gonna be yummy.par

Well…Im waiting on everyone to wake up so we can get our day started. I was going to work in the garden today but we had a stormy night last night and the garden is soaked. So after chores today…I will be cleaning out the last room in the house….the computer/school/sewing room….URGH!!!!!par

I will leave you with a few farm thoughts:par

Farm girls can be just as sophisticated as the other girls you just have to look past the smell and dirt. We clean up pretty good after a little soap and water. Hahahahahaha.

par

Nobody understands why we do what we do that’s why its called a farm.

par
Last but not least:par

Agriculture is important to society or you wouldn’t have any clothes or food. Duh…..

par
Hope everyone has a blessed day in the Lord.par

About 4dfarms

I am a wife to an amazingly dedicated, devoted, and loyal husband whom God sent to me. I am a mother to two wonderful boys to whom I'd give my life for. Around here we have homeschooled, we farm, garden, hunt, fish and anything else we want to do. Although I do have Rheumatoid Arthritis. Sometimes its hard for me to keep up. If it was not for my husband and two boys, I could not do some of what I do. They really do help me alot. We work together as a team in my home. We try our best to train up our children in the fear and admonition of the Lord. Yea, they slip sometimes and correction has to be made. Thats life. I want so badly to be just like the Proverbs 31 woman. My grandmother did an awesome job of it and Id like to fill her shoes.
