par
Let me see if I can pick up where we left off. par
par
We went back to my momma and daddy’s to pick up Dallas. He decided he was ready to come home. This made daddy and brother happy. Daddy hates it when his boys are not here. He goes crazy. We waited around for my dad to get off work so we could eat together. David went and got supper and brought it back. par
par
We left my momma and daddys and got home after dark and I had to go to the barn to milk Miss You Know Who. We spent the rest of spring break with daddy taking turns spending quality time with each one and then together. He would take Dallas to karate, then Dakota to baseball practice. Yes baseball season has started. Yep its baseball seasonpar
par
Dakota had to drop the weight lifting for this time because this schedule would not hold up once daddy went out of town and it would just be me getting them to where they had to be. Then they go fishing and just goofing off together. par
par
Since daddy is going out of town, he has tried to spend as much time with us as possible. We thought he was going to leave before Easter so we have Easter Family get together a week early.Family Easter at nanny's. Don't u wish your nanny could cook like mine. par
par
This was fine with the kids cause they got to hunt eggs two week ends in a row and get all hyped up on candy. Well Daddy got a call and he didnt have to leave before Easter after all. So here we are at Easter morning.I hate it when david is not in the picture. Happy Easter everyone. Have a blessed day. Gonna spend the rest of the day with my family.par
par
I hate it when hes not in the pic. Then Dallas gets to hunt eggs again.par
Dallas getting his hunt on at fbc Bethel springs Easter egg hunt.par
par
Dallas said he was getting his hunt on!par
par
We had a Spring fling as school, which turned out to be nothing but a ball game between teachers and students or parents and teacher and students. But during half time the kids got to join in on dancing. This is Dallas and his friend Matthew.par
2012-04-03_19-28-18_558 Dallas dancing at half timepar
par
This is Dallas looking good for the ladies at school. Dallas looking nice for the ladies this morning.par
par
They had spring pictures made and we ordered a package because they were cheaper than their fall pics. It was a good price. But Dakota did not like his, he said he looked goofy and he sent them back. I didnt even get to see them. This is Dallas. My little man.par
par
They went to the dentist for regular cleanings and Dallas will get to get his braces off in a few weeks. But…….for a long time he will have to wear a small protective retainer. GRRRR, he didnt want to have to wear anything else. They said its to help prevent any shifting when his permanent teeth come in. He will be able to take it out when he eats or has to wear a mouth piece for karate.par
par
Dakota has said that he is not for sure if he wants to play football next year in high school or not. This shocks me, cause he eats drinks and sleeps it. He want to try high school baseball. I told his this was his decision. We have never made them play a sport they didnt want to. He will have to change his schedule for his classes though. par
par
Dakota does not have a face book account anymore. One night while he was on the computer, he got into an argument with another boy. He thought it made him look and sound really cool to throw in a few curse words. Well, daddy caught it. He told him it did not make him look cool, it made him look like a jerk and his friends thought so too. Hard lesson learned.par

Next week starts TCAP testing in our state. State Legislature has passed a law that the TN State Tests counts as 15% of their final grade. This does not set well with some parents because some students have trouble passing this test. I dont know what they will do. It is a stress full week for the students and teachers. They are reviewing them daily to get them ready. All I can do is sit back and pray daily while they take these tests everyday. par
par
This is the last few weeks of school since 8th grade graduation is May 14th. It is important that both make good grades the rest of these weeks. I think they will do fine. Im waiting to find out when their 8th grade presentations will be. I would like to go and video tape. They are finished with their duck boxes and written report. All they have to do now is make their poster board.par

Now let me bring you up to date on my Drama Princess and Legacy. First, Princess. You would not believe the transition with her. It took alot of patience on my part and consistency. Not to mention alot of praying and biting my tongue. We went through a stage to where she wanted to outsmart me by not letting her milk down. We tried everything. One night Dallas and me went down to the barn to milk and we were singing Old McDonald, and she didnt like it. we went back to singing her favorite song and wouldnt you know it, her milk started flowing. We couldnt believe it. We just laughed. Weve gone from her kicking and screaming when it is time to get on the milk stand to her jumping up there all by herself now.. I dont even have to hobble her…One time I fooled her and slipped Legacy up under her to nurse…she didnt know what was going on…I fooled princess. NA NA NA NA boo boo. While I was milking I slipped legacy up under momma and he nursed a few minutes. She knew something felt funny.par
par
All she knew was that something felt funny! I have come to the conclusion she did not like my milker. I had to start milking her by hand and she will stand still. The minute I get my milker out to start milking her, she goes back to kicking. I REALLY WISH she would let me use my milker. She now even has patience with me when I have to stop and rest my hands. She will turn around and look at me as if to say, “You alright?” Then I will go back to milking. So, I had this brilliant idea. If she would let Legacy nurse now, he would get fed plus she would get milked at the same time and I could let my hands take a break. This has gone rather well, she lets him nurse….We have come a long way to get to this point. I'm so proud.par
par
We have come a long way to get to this point. So I let him nurse in the mornings and evenings. He gets a bottle in the afternoon. But it is so0n fixing to be time to wean him, since I like to start weaning at 6 wks. At least he will have this time with her like he should as nature intends. This will help her learn better parenting skills for next year. lol par
par
This is how Legacy is doing. He has grown so much. Can you say SMALL< MEDIUM AND LARGE?Legacy hanging out with the boys learning how to be a man.lolpar
par
I transitioned him over to the bucky barn to learn to be a man. He gets to hang out with Daddy and Uncle Bucky. They treat him well. He is learning fast. He is not wanting any grain right now but he is learning to pasture with the boys and eat hay too. The boys play with him. He gets to spend time with Daddy and Mommy. I let him out in the mornings with mommy and then he helps me do chores. He still follows me around like a puppy dog. Then when were done he goes back with the boys.par
Hi my name is legacy what's yours? Legacy learning to eat hay. Daddy and uncle Bucky are teaching him to browse in the pasture. My little man is growing up.Daddy Zorro setting a good example for son legacy. Such a good boy. Daddy Zorro, setting a good example to son. “Now, son, this is how we stand on the milk stand when they have to do any routing care for us.” “Ok, Daddy.” lol par

Legacy has learned his first farm lesson. If you don’t want pecked on the head and ears you do not stick your nose in a nesting box where a broody hen is sitting on eggs. Lol

par
He has been watching momma eat out of her trough.par
Legacy following mommies instructions. par
par
Princess now, hollers at me from way down in the pasture when “she feels” its milking time. She will call me until I come and demand to be milked. par
par
We have come a long way since she gave birth. She has been a true test, but we have succeeded. I am so proud. par
par
I still love to see Mommas with babies. This is Cocoa with one of her twins from last year. They stick together like glue. Its amazing how these babies still stick close to mommas. This is cocoa with miracle. How sweet.par
par
I still think however I have moody, physco, hormonal goats still in the barn. Joe Joe and Ginger are so big they are miserable. They moan when they breathe. I feel sorry for the. They still have half of May to go. Tasha is getting more loving towards me but she is not due til June. Tasha really has the personality of her mom Tisha. I have done routine maintenance on everyone. Worming, vaccinating, and hoof trimming. This is the season for livestock lice. No, not the kind we humans get, this is livestock lice. Kind of looks like dandruff. I have tried something to see if it works. I sometimes use a drench wormer. I put some in a spray bottle and sprayed their coats with it. Ill let you know how it works. par
par
We got alot of stuff done before daddy had to go out of town. We got Dakota working on the mowing of the lawn. This is now his job. Daddy laid down the boundries and showed him what to do. Dakota mowed for two days on this yard and weedeated. He also picked up any sticks and trash along the way and sprayed for ants. He worked so hard and it really looked wonderful.Dakota working hard. Dallas is at nannys working too. Good boys.par
par
He may have a summer job with daddys cousin mowing yards. This will help him learn. He will get paid for our yard. He wants a job so bad. I will have to find Dallas a job for this summer cause he wants to get paid too. par
par
Susie is at the breeder to wait for her to come into heat so he can breed her. Missy is doing great in her training.Dixie is like a little lost dog without them here.par
par
par
While the boys were in school, David and I got most of the garden planted. We planted tomatoes, peppers, okra, squash, corn, peas, watermelons, pumpkins, sunflowers, broccilli, cabbage, brussel sprouts, radishes, carrots, spinach, onions, garlic, cucumbers and lettuce so far. We worked so hard for a whole week, I could not hardly move. I hurt in places I didnt know I had. He hooked up all my sprinklers again for me. We had put them away for the winter. We now have peas and corn and sunflowers coming up.We've got corn and peas coming up. Yeapar
par
He finished putting up my green bean fence. I still go to plant those one day this week. This is my view off my back porch. Right now I can see my garden where we have planted all week. I can see our mower where Dakota has worked hard all weekend. In the back to the left I can see my girls playing queen of the barn.par
par
The rest of the time we tried to spend more time together before daddy left. Well that time came and it wasnt pleasant. Dallas woke up crying that morning. He has never cried before. This about killed daddy. Dakota woke up clingy to daddy. Every time he passed him through the house, he would reach out and hug him. Daddy knew this was not going to be easy. He took them to school that morning. They were off ok. Daddy said next time hes going to wait til everyone is asleep and sneak out in the middle of the night. I told him he better not. No one was looking forward to him leaving. We have great neighbors that watch over us and that makes him feel at ease. We do have great neighbors. par
par
We were hoping that he would have been able to take me back to the dentist to get the other side of my mouth, but my appt. was two days after he left. My mother in law took me. I didnt feel a thing cause I was sedated again. They made my visit so pleasant. Mostly cause I was sedated. Lol. We got back home and she went and picked up the boys. It was Wednesday, which they usually stay in after school and I come to the school with the church bus to pick everyone up. But, they did not want to go to church without me. So she took them to get something to eat and get me some yogurt and soup since thats all I could eat. I slept the rest of the day. par

I would like to say thank you to Dakota and Dallas for taking care of me. They covered up daddy’s tomato and pepper plants to protect them from frost. Dakota did some laundry without being asked. They gave legacy his bottle when needed. And Dallas kept me supplied in kisses and hugs and got me whatever I needed. Our family pulls together and takes care of one another. Thank you boys I love you very much.

par
Schedule has been hectic lately. Karate, baseball, church, garden, chores and grocery shopping.I have not grocery shopped in I couldnt tell you how long. David is the grocery shopper and the finance keeper and bill payer. I hate it.par
par
We paid so much attention to the outside and getting things done, that the inside of my house looks like a tornado went through it. Now we have to spring clean. I have been working on one room at a time. Ceiling to floor, curtains are being taken down and washed. PHEW!!!! Once Im caught up I intend on staying caught up. par
par
Dallas is getting ready for his first competition in karate. It will be on a Saturday and it is about two hours from here. We will have a busy day. He will compete in his second kata..Hian Nidan, and grappling. 2012-04-09_17-38-51_482 2012-04-16_18-08-45_104 2012-04-16_18-02-47_81 2012-04-16_18-01-33_675 2012-04-16_17-45-29_630 2012-04-16_17-22-24_377 Dallas getting ready for competition in Camden on the 28th.par
par
Dallas wanted to spend a few nights with nanny so we let him and they spoiled him rotten as usual. I took my other handsome feller out to eat. And then he went with the youth for movie night one night. Im trying to keep them busy to keep their mind off daddy being gone. But Im getting wore out. par
par
The boys have gotten in to a little mischief at school. I had already warned the teachers this might happen if they got to missing Daddy. They are helping. par
par
I wish I could say more about that but they read my blog too. Lets just say on a few occassions I have sided with my children because I felt they were in the right. They know my feelings on these situations and I will not futher discuss them here.par
par
par
The last thing I did was plant 4 rows of potatoes by myself. I came in and couldnt feel my arms. I was shaking from being so tire. I took a much needed shower and laid down on the couch and fell asleep. par
par
April the 14th, 22 years ago, David and I went on our first date. We have been together ever since.Photobucketpar
par
I love this man with all my heart and I appreciate everything he does for his family. He is very devoted, dedicated, loyal, and he sacrafices everything for us. He is a great husband and father and provider. I will not mess this good thing up. I love you David Dixon. par

About 4dfarms

I am a wife to an amazingly dedicated, devoted, and loyal husband whom God sent to me. I am a mother to two wonderful boys to whom I'd give my life for. Around here we have homeschooled, we farm, garden, hunt, fish and anything else we want to do. Although I do have Rheumatoid Arthritis. Sometimes its hard for me to keep up. If it was not for my husband and two boys, I could not do some of what I do. They really do help me alot. We work together as a team in my home. We try our best to train up our children in the fear and admonition of the Lord. Yea, they slip sometimes and correction has to be made. Thats life. I want so badly to be just like the Proverbs 31 woman. My grandmother did an awesome job of it and Id like to fill her shoes.
