Ok, Ill fill you in on the latest. I went back down to the barn later that afternoon to try to get her on the milk stand again and I start to grab her teat to let baby find it and she butts me and now I have a fat busted lip. This is the thanks I get. lol par
Later that night after supper, Dallas and I got our stuff ready to go down to the barn and spend the night. We get all set up and got the baby and momma settled down for the night. So we try to go to sleep.par

OK stayed, not slept, in the barn last night. I have not slept all night. Momma has talked to baby all night, I heard cud chewing, licking and smacking and crunching on hay, Joe Joe butting everyone out of the barn, cats climbing, coyotes howling, dogs barking, and then out of nowhere the roosters start crowing way before sun up. There looking mighty good at this moment when I imagine them fried. Momma and baby are fine. She doesn’t like being left alone with him. As long as I’m there she’s fine. We didn’t get cold til around sun up and we high tailed it to the house crawled under the cover and went nighty night. I am sleep deprived, my lip is twice its size this morning, I’m cranky. It’s going to be a long day. I will try to get her to nurse again this morning. But I will guard my lip carefully.

I am asleep on the couch and finally toasty when Dakota walks in and wakes me up and tells me to come outside. To my surprise they got up this morning and went turkey hunting for first weekend of juvenile season. He killed his first turkey.Uploaded from the Photobucket Android Apppar
We take some pictures and while they are taking care of it, I make myself some breakfast and drink some much needed coffee to wake up.par
I go back down to barn to do chores and feed. I get Princess back on the stand, after she takes me for a rodeo, and we try this again. After about 30 minutes of kicking and hollering her head off like I was torturing her (such drama), I have to hobble her. I hate doing this, but I dont want kicked in the head either. I let her settle down and get use to her feet being stationery. lol Now, I rub her, soothe her, sing to her and finally I just have to get the job done. I have to do this or shes going to get engorged and be miserable, she just has to learn to trust me. I get my milker out and she fills up a whole quart. Since shes still squimish, she is not letting all her milk down at this time. That will come later when she gets more comfortable. I was so proud of her, I praised her and gave her some treats to boot.Uploaded from the Photobucket Android App Uploaded from the Photobucket Android Apppar
Legacy is very frisky today, Im glad someone is. Im still walking around like a zombie. If your having trouble understanding my post, sorry, Im still exhausted. Tonight when I go back down to the barn I will try to milk her out again, but I will try to sneak baby up under her in the process. Well see how that goes. par
Dallas was suppose to go turkey hunting this evening, but he is so exhausted too he is taking a nap. lolpar

About 4dfarms

I am a wife to an amazingly dedicated, devoted, and loyal husband whom God sent to me. I am a mother to two wonderful boys to whom I'd give my life for. Around here we have homeschooled, we farm, garden, hunt, fish and anything else we want to do. Although I do have Rheumatoid Arthritis. Sometimes its hard for me to keep up. If it was not for my husband and two boys, I could not do some of what I do. They really do help me alot. We work together as a team in my home. We try our best to train up our children in the fear and admonition of the Lord. Yea, they slip sometimes and correction has to be made. Thats life. I want so badly to be just like the Proverbs 31 woman. My grandmother did an awesome job of it and Id like to fill her shoes.
