This was such an important game for us, because if we won, we won the County Championship. It has been yrs since our school has won the championship. These boys were pumped up all day. Although Dakota knew he couldnt play (under dr.s orders, see previous post on this) he was still so excited. He supported his team mates from the sidelines. I felt so sorry for him just standing there, knowing how bad he wanted to play. His heart was so in it. par

The team was getting ready for the coin toss. Usually two or three boys walk out but, in this case, you take one, you take on us all: par

Dakotas friend TaTa, (Kentavius) got hurt, and he was helping him on the sidelines. Now thats teamwork:par

Although we did not win the game, we did however win much more that night. Ill explain. First the referees called penalties on us that we didnt even understand and then penalties that should have been called like for face mask never got called. Our coach was really patient, but slowly loosing them. One boy grabbed TaTas face mask and reached under and scratched his eye. I was so disappointed with the bad conduct and bad sportsmanship of the other team. They taunted our boys all night. They would call them the “N” word and “B” word. The parents were just as bad. They were hollering out ugly things and stupid things to taunt them all night. Needless to say we got tired of it. You know on a football field, you have a home side and the visitor side. Well, there was a man and his wife on our side yelling for their team and saying ugly things about our boys right in Bethel territory…well, our Principal had all he could stand. After a few parents had jumped on them, he went to him and said, he didnt mind him cheering his team on, but GET ON YOUR SIDE TO DO IT! We were furious. Everyone held their tempers, and witts about them (even our boys) until about the last 2 minutes of the 4th quarter. Then it all came loose. Everyone, including Principal, boys and parents lost it. One of the boys from the other team started a fight and got one of our ball carriers thrown out. Then another stupid penalty was called and one our boys was getting mad, so coach pulled him out before anything else happened. Not only was our coach dealing with his own emotions, but he was helping the boys deal with theirs and trying to keep peace. Then another penalty, and that got the coach. He went out and yelled at the ref and guess what: he got a technical penalty called on him, but he said that was ok cause he took one for the boys. It got really redicilious at the end.We even had teachers trying to keep the peace, but they were slowly loosing it.par

What our boys did win, was much more respect from us parents, their coach, and our Principal and staff. They took alot of emotional taunts and threats and yet still held their composure to somewhat extent. They did not show their tales like the visiting side did. We were all proud of their behavior. The other side, however, left our field looking like complete idiots. They won that game just by points. We won much more than that. par

We are proud because our boys got this far by dedication, and teamwork. One game is not going to hurt us, although it did them. They were all crying and upset and hugging one another. It was an emotional learning experience. They have no reason to slump their heads. They can hold them up high, cause WE ARE STILL THE CHAMPIONS. They are our heroes. We still have one last game. Dakota will be playing this time. He goes back to Dr. first thing Mon. morning and gets reevaluated and Im going to make sure he passes this. He will play his last game with pride. par

I my not agree with some things they do learn in public school and it is hard to let them learn some lessons, but this experience is one they will never forget and it taught them to work better as a team and care about one another. This is a very good life lesson that I might not could have taught him. par

The next day was Who’s Who picture day for the Year Book. They got to go to a restaurant afterwards to eat. This was a good day to let them just relax and forget about what happened the night before. This is alot of the snap shots just goofing off,.par

About 4dfarms

I am a wife to an amazingly dedicated, devoted, and loyal husband whom God sent to me. I am a mother to two wonderful boys to whom I'd give my life for. Around here we homeschool, farm, garden, hunt, fish and anything else we want to do. Although I do have Rheumatoid Arthritis. Sometimes its hard for me to keep up. If it was not for my husband and two boys, I could not do some of what I do. They really do help me alot. We work together as a team in my home. We try our best to train up our children in the fear and admonition of the Lord. Yea, they slip sometimes and correction has to be made. Thats life. I want so badly to be just like the Proverbs 31 woman. My grandmother did an awesome job of it and Id like to fill her shoes.
