First, I had a good Mother’s Day. David and the boys got me a food processor to help with my canning and freezing. It sure will help my hands out alot.

Dakota kicked it in high gear the last week of school, and did two lessons a day and then turned around and took all his exams and aced them all. Yea!! Sister Baby came over one day and did a little school with Dallas.

As soon as school was out we had to spring clean. I mean, from the walls to the floor. We scrubbed walls, and steam cleaned carpets. I was waiting until Susie was back outside and we got all the hair out of here. Then we got down to the nitty gritty. Everything got washed.

Susie is still doing good, she still likes to retrieve my duck. Photobucket

The last time she "retrieved" she bit down a little too hard and hurt Sassy. It tore a hole in her leg and we had to bring her in and dr. her up. I ran a tub full of water and she just floated and loved it.

She is fine now, she had a limp for a little while.

Her and Susie look alot alike. She helps on the farm too. She likes to chase Cocoa. Ive had to teach her not too. She listens really well. Im surprised!!!!!! I let them out to work in the garden with me til they started running through my corn, and I had to get them out.

David worked so hard getting my 2 acres fenced in while we were finishing school. Now my girls can get out when they please. It looks so good to see them out browsing. It took them a while to realize their boundries. Cocoa was a little hesitant the first night we left the gate open, Tisha was already out, and Cocoa would take a step and look, take another step and look, like, "Are we suppose to be doing this?" Tisha had an attitude of, "Just shut  up and come on, thats what they get for leaving the gate open!"  They are loving their freedom.

David did a really good job. Im so proud. That was the best thing he could have done for me. He went later and bought some bird houses and put on the fence posts. They look so good.Photobucket The girls are loving the fenced in area too.Photobucket

I let them out in the evenings to run and play and they have a ball and we dont have to worry about their safety.
par
Oatmeals babies are fine, they are weaned now. Weve got to find them homes now. Its gonna be hard to let them go. I took her to the vet and had her fixed. Chey’s babies are finally all out from under the house, she had 4, beautiful. They are weaned. Gotta find them homes too. Here is Dallas with one of Oatmeals up in the loft of the barn.

He would get up in the barn every morning and check on them, before it was time to get them down. We brought them up to the house and made them a bed. Now they are back down at the barn just cause they love it down there. So is Chey’s babies. Cant hardly get good pictures of hers cause they run.

My garden has just took off, looks like Ill be busy this summer.

Dakota’s last game is tomorrow night. Weve had some good games and some bad. Some excitement and some not. One game Dakota got kicked in the throat by a kid sliding in home. Knocked the breath out of him, but he was still excited he got him out. He took one for the team.
par
We had VBS and had a good time. Dakota really got into the music. He doesnt sing alot, but these songs he liked.

They worked really hard to learn bible verses to earn points to win an mp3 player or an ipod. A few other girls beat him, but thats ok it was all about learning the word.
par
After VBS, we loaded up one day to go see my sidekick, Darlene and their new place. Not to mention her new baby just born. This is Cookie. Aint it cute?

Dakota fished all day, almost til dark, and finally caught a bass out of their pond.Photobucket

He was excited. He had waited all week for that. He deserved it.

Now are you ready for the grand finale???? I saved the best for last. I spent all last week getting the barn ready for the baby to get here. Got all my supplies ready, and just started patiently waiting. Her due date was Sunday. We spent the night down at the barn and camped out. My nephew came and spent some time with us.

Around 10 or so, Dakota and Michael wanted to go up to the house, Dakota didnt want Daddy to be alone. Me and Dallas slept in the barn on our air mattress, no baby that night. Daddy didnt get a bit of sleep either cause Momma wasnt in the house. Monday I checked her and saw no signs. David said she wasnt gonna go either. Then Tues. morning at 5:30 he woke me and said today is the day, go check her. I stumble out of bed, no signs yet. Then again at 9am. Hallelulia we saw signs. I got back up to the house got all my stuff together, loaded up the rhino and went back to the barn an hr and a half later. To my surprise, there was a little brown blob on the floor.  Totally missed the birth, she had already had her cleaned off. Last yr it took her 11 1/2 hrs to have her baby. So here is Xcaliburs Lucky Tasha. Tadah!!Photobucket

As soon as we walked into the barn, I just started crying. Finally after a year of waiting and starting over. David helped me take care of the umbilical cord. We werent gonna go through what we did last  year. I took alot of extra precautions this year. We slept in the barn again. Nope I didnt sleep all night. I heard licking all night long from Tisha. I tried to assure her there wasnt a wet spot on her anymore, but she just wouldnt have it. I thought her tongue would fall off she has licked so much and still licking today. Then I heard the baby nursing several times in the night. It was so cute. Then Tisha talked to her all night. Then the cats running and playing in the barn and jumping on the bed and scaring me to death. Chasing out toes under the cover, jumping up on the stall. Deer walking in the woods behind us. Then around 5am Buster did his thang and started crowing.  Cocoa has been so jealous and pouting. So Ive been trying to give her special attention too. Tisha is so protective of Tasha, she want let Cocoa in the barn. Tisha butts the cats out too. She constantly is standing over the baby watching her. If she whines, mommie is there. She doesnt take her eyes off of her. I think she still remembers what happened last year. Both of us are bound and determined, nothing is gonna happen to this one. She is learning to walk around. Shes not very vocal yet. But she is a little stubborn like her momma. She has 4 generations in her name. Tisha is momma, Sasha is grandmother, Xcalibur is daddy, and in memory of her great grand pa who has a permanent Grand Champion status through the American Dairy Goat Association, Lucky Strike. I have better pictures of her on my phone, but Ive got to get them off and onto the computer. I have a really good close up.We check on her frequently every day. I am so proud of Tisha. She is an excellent mom. Im going to start in Sept. or Oct. and have Cocoa artificially inseminated. She will be the first  next spring I hope. Shes a little lonely now that Tisha is giving all her attention to Tasha.
par
Dakota talked me into making an educational DVD for people wanting to raise goats. So I have started. When I get it all done, which will be a while, I will have it published. I will have to try to catch another live birth since I missed this one. Dakota has been my camera man a few times. He likes to say, "And we are live in 3,2,1, Action!!!" We have got alot of good footage so far. I think it will be great.
par
Well I think Ive got everybody caught up a bit. Ive just been busy. Im behind on alot. Right now Ive got to go to bed, my own bed tonight in the house. Maybe I want be so long next time posting. I hope you have enjoyed reading as much as Ive enjoyed filling you in.Im like my grandmother was, we love to share stories.

About 4dfarms

I am a wife to an amazingly dedicated, devoted, and loyal husband whom God sent to me. I am a mother to two wonderful boys to whom I'd give my life for. Around here we have homeschooled, we farm, garden, hunt, fish and anything else we want to do. Although I do have Rheumatoid Arthritis. Sometimes its hard for me to keep up. If it was not for my husband and two boys, I could not do some of what I do. They really do help me alot. We work together as a team in my home. We try our best to train up our children in the fear and admonition of the Lord. Yea, they slip sometimes and correction has to be made. Thats life. I want so badly to be just like the Proverbs 31 woman. My grandmother did an awesome job of it and Id like to fill her shoes.
