pardtx0tx959tx1918tx2877tx3836tx4795tx5754tx6713tx7672tx8631f1fs20 Did anybody out there miss me while I was gone? Ive been so busy with school, football, garden, canning, etc. Phew! Im still not caught up. Ive tried to get caught up on my reading, I cant even do that. I just do a little here and there.

Only one more football game to go. However if he gets picked for All Stars we will have another month of football. Next week is their homecoming game. Dad is really proud of Dakota. He loves football. He is undecided if he wants to play baseball next year or not. Thats a first!

Both are doing good in school. I have a bet with Dakota that sometime in the future he will come back and thank me for pushing him so hard. Of course he argues he’ll never do it but I know better. That’ll be 50 bucks in my pocket some day. Ha!

Dallas is doing really well in school. He even talks about what hes learned in "school" to his Sunday School teachers at church. Hes doing really well with his cursive writing. We had a revival last week and was fortunate enough to have Bro. Carroll Roberson preach and sing for us. On Wednesday night while we were eating supper, he came to our table and was speaking to some of the school children and Dallas proceeds to tell him some of his Bible Verses hes learned. I was just beaming with pride and joy. We really enjoyed his preaching and intelligence about the Holy Land. He and his wife conduct tours twice a year in the Holy Land, and in order to do this you have to study Middle Eastern History and Jewish Laws,  not to mention Greek and Hebrew Language. His wife is really sweet too.

I have been busy canning green beans. The other day I canned 31 qts. and today I picked more. We are still producing tomatoes. I dug up the rest of our carrots today. Im not sure our corn is going to do any good. Maybe next yr. Ive got fall peas coming up and I hope they harvest before the first frost. I made some muskydine jelly yesterday and oh, it smelled so good in here. I cant wait to try it. We harvested alot of sweet potatoes a few weeks ago. Weve been enjoying them too.

My parents came and spent a few days with us and the boys went back with them a few days. So Ive got alot accomplished. I started putting up a chicken run outside the coop for the chickens. I came up alittle short on wire, so Ill go get a small roll and finish this weekend maybe. I put up a trellis for a muskydine vine from some seeds that I saved and planted today.  Been picking acorns for the goats and turkeys, I didnt know they liked them. I let the girls out one day when my parents were here and they came up to the house with us and we all sat outside playing cards. Cocoa kept wanting to butt with Daddy. It was too funny. My momma got some really good pictures. She really enjoyed herself and my girls.

Its that time of year again to have the girls bred. Ive looked so funny the past month going around checking "tales". Ive been wathing for heat signs. I finally caught Tishas heat cycle yesterday. I set her up a "date" for 21 days from now. Ive been watching Cocoa, but she is so hard to catch her signs. Shes one of those silent heat types. Im really excited about having babies running around here next spring. This time I will spend the night in the barn with them to make sure everything goes well during the night. It hurt too much last time to loose one. This winter we will be working on my fence to fence in my 2 acres for them. David is going to try to work on our back porch. So maybe by spring we will hae two projects out of the way. Theres still so much to do around here. Occasionally we pick up sticks and throw them on the burn pile. David took 2 days last week and bush hogged 6 acres. But it looks so nice from the  road. I planted winter wheat all around the barn and half an acre. It should look good maybe by next month. Turkeys like winter wheat too. Next month we will let them free range and let them loose. The ducks too. Let them get all the insects around here. Homesteading is so much fun and rewarding but oh so tiring. When I look back at all wee accomplished, its worth every aching bone. There has been days Ive had to recooperate from the day before and been so sore I could hardly move.I snapped beans in here one night til my hands were aching so bad. I just have to do things at my own pace. Im trying not to let RA defeat me but sometimes it wins and I have to call it quits for a few days. And play catch up. This winter when were enjoying those fresh canned vegetables Ill be proud.

Well its late and Ive got to go shower. I go pick up the boys tomorrow. They have had a good time and dont want to come home. Ha! Thats what Grandparents are for. I never wanted to come home from my Grandparents house either.

About 4dfarms

I am a wife to an amazingly dedicated, devoted, and loyal husband whom God sent to me. I am a mother to two wonderful boys to whom I'd give my life for. Around here we have homeschooled, we farm, garden, hunt, fish and anything else we want to do. Although I do have Rheumatoid Arthritis. Sometimes its hard for me to keep up. If it was not for my husband and two boys, I could not do some of what I do. They really do help me alot. We work together as a team in my home. We try our best to train up our children in the fear and admonition of the Lord. Yea, they slip sometimes and correction has to be made. Thats life. I want so badly to be just like the Proverbs 31 woman. My grandmother did an awesome job of it and Id like to fill her shoes.
