I looked all in the recliner but totally forgot about my chair. So once again I have retired my stand by phone and Im back to using my new one. Daddy was very proud seeings though we thought we were going to have to get another one. My back up phone has saved me a few times but it want last forever. yesterday we fully cleaned the living room. Ive dusted so many ducks, deer and turkey till I thought I would be  hanging on the wall next. Then we rested and went back outside. The boys taget practiced with their rifles while I weeded in the garden. I got a little behind in that. Dakota really teaches Dallas alot. He was teaching him safety yesterday. When they got tired of shooting, well running out of shells is more like it. They’d shoot all day if I let them, they started playing hide and go seek in the garden. So here goes Dallas and Dixie going through  my corn rows. Here comes Dakota. The cat joins in too. It was so funny seeing kids playing in the corn. Then Dixie tries digging up my potatoes again so we had to put her up. She was ready though she was tired. I think at the end of the month the potatoes will be ready to harvest. I have just the right bin to store them in under the house, provided the girls dont start nibbling on them. I will have to try again next year with strawberries, cause they ate those too.Ive still got more work to do out there. In the heat of the day we work inside and when it gets cooler we get outside. Sometimes just what ever we feel like doing. Today we cleaned the hall way, air conditioning unit, and my bedroom. Dakota cleaned all the fans. He is a trooper. Dallas all the sudden think he needed a nap. Ha! We all worked together and got finished. Were fixing to go back outside because tonight is church. Tomorrow will be computer room, but Ive got alot of organizing to do in here first before we clean. So I’ll probably do that tonight after milking. The last thing to do will be steam cleaning. Ill do it all at one time then go outside for a few hours. Next week is totally devoted to my girls. Ive got hoof trimming to do, may get drug around the barn again but it has to be done. Ive got to take it easy the next few days because my arm and hand is hurting and tingling on and off. Tugging too much on furniture I guess.

David will have a very good Fathers Day this year. We have ordered him 20 Eastern Wild Turkeys and 10 Mallard Ducks from a hatchery. They will be a few days late, due to ship date and the day they will hatch. We will still put his hutch together (hopefully) and I will cut out a few pictures to put in there of what is coming so he’ll know. We also got him a Guide to Raising Turkeys book. Dakota wants to keep them going after they get big by incubating the eggs and raising more. This Thanksgiving he may not make a lot of money but next he will.  He want to incubate the duck eggs too and sell them to hunting guides. It will be neat to have these around because they can hunt on our own land. David has wanted turkeys here since we moved here. So hell have some. We will keep them in the hutch until they are old enough to set free. After we get a fence built Dakota wants a calf to raise and manage in husbandry (that means breed them and sell the calves) Ha! so he can learn this hobby. My boys know how to farm and will help them later in life. I dont think times are going to get any better and the prices arent going to be good even when they get older. But they will know how to survive and live off the land. Alot of people are going back to this way of life cause their tired of the grocery prices. I believe if we all did this they would be forced to cut them down. Dakota will not hardly eat vegetables out of the can anymore at the store. They just taste  too different. and you dont know what your eating anymore. They are recalling tomatoes in the store now for Salmonilla (sp) Imagine how many things are made with tomatoes. Enough on my homesteading gooroo.

About 4dfarms

I am a wife to an amazingly dedicated, devoted, and loyal husband whom God sent to me. I am a mother to two wonderful boys to whom I'd give my life for. Around here we have homeschooled, we farm, garden, hunt, fish and anything else we want to do. Although I do have Rheumatoid Arthritis. Sometimes its hard for me to keep up. If it was not for my husband and two boys, I could not do some of what I do. They really do help me alot. We work together as a team in my home. We try our best to train up our children in the fear and admonition of the Lord. Yea, they slip sometimes and correction has to be made. Thats life. I want so badly to be just like the Proverbs 31 woman. My grandmother did an awesome job of it and Id like to fill her shoes.
